stop by! new prints on the way!

welcome to my manu o ku series. walking around honolulu, you will see these amazing little birds everywhere downtown. one of the few success stories of hawaiian seabirds making a comeback and thriving in an urban setting!

you might not know it- but these birds will lay their eggs on a branch- those little rings left when a branch falls off. the babies are raised in that ring as well. they patiently wait for mom and dad to return from sea with small fish. you can find out more about them here and even help monitor them!

there is even a manu o ku exhibition down at capitol modern right now- my photo is included! go check it out before april 4. here.

another bit of trivia for you- but i had a dream about these birds before my son was born. a good friend helped pick out his middle name- kamanulewa- which means the bird up high... these birds certainly go up very high and it is a fun site to watch them swoop and dive all around the coconut trees, high rises downtown and the sea.

all photographs for sale and be customized to fit your space and needs. please contact me for more information- or for a mock up on how my art will fit into your space and bring the ocean and sky calm into your life.
