While there is a wide range of photography coverage and pricing, here is the nitty gritty you need to know when looking for your Hawaii photographer. (or at least what I would look for, as someone who is a professional photographer, knowing what I know!)

First: look for images that inspire you, and match your style. Do you like all black and white? Color true to life or something more sepia toned? Does their portfolio represent a consistent look?

Do they have nice blue skies or is it blown out (so bright that you cannot see any detail). Do they have a nice mix of posed and candids? (if that is what you are looking for?)

Second: reach out! See how long it takes them to get back to you, and how their tone is. Don't be afraid to ask any questions at this point too!

Third: pricing. There are two schools of thought on this. Some people want the cheapest they can find- assuming that everyone has a camera and can take photos. It takes years to hone your eye, and equipment and the proper permits are not cheap. I understand that things are expensive! I aim to be a nice middle ground that offers a superior photo project, tells a story, creates beautiful images and lasting memories while being able to cover my expenses, equipment and expertise. I have gone to school to study photography and film and have many great reviews online and many return families as proof that I am the photographer you need.

Fourth: set up the session and have fun. A good photographer will help calm the group, get the best lighting and angles and have it be fun!!! Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm here to help.
